At Ella and Kay Kay Foundation, we strive to help children become successful writers. Founded in 2023, we are a nonprofit organization based in the heart of Minnesota, with a mission to connect children to resources and tools that will foster their creative expression and help them find their voice.

Children

We offer emotional, logistical, and financial support to young people who aspire to reach their writing goals. Our mentorship program provides guidance on the pathways they need to take to become successful authors, while our one-on-one sessions provide personalized advice tailored specifically for each individual child’s needs. Additionally, we host regular writing workshops throughout the year which provide an opportunity for everyone from budding storytellers to seasoned authors to meet, share their work, get feedback from peers and professionals alike, as well as network with potential mentors.

Industry Support

We will partner with industry leading publishing companies that want to invest in and nurture emerging talent across different genres of fiction or nonfiction writing – whether it be picture books, novels or even narrative journalism. Not only do these partnerships allow us to raise more funds but it also allows us to provide our members with valuable contacts in the industry that can open up opportunities for them down the line such as internships or professional advice on how best position oneself when embarking on a new venture.
